Home School Programs
Starting in 2010, the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO) is offering a series
of homeschool education programs. For more details on these programs or to register
your child please contact Cassy Bohnet at cassy.bohnet@rmbo.org or 303-659-4348
ext 15. Please register your child at least 2 weeks prior to the event! Parents
are welcome to attend any of these programs with their child if they wish or they
can drop their child off and pick their child up after the program.
Homeschool Days at the Barr Lake State Park Bird Banding Station September 15th
and October 11th!
Time: 9:30 am -11:30 am
Location: Meet near the Barr Lake State Park Nature Center
Price: $5/child + $6/vehicle State Park day pass
Homeschool children and their parents are invited to observe birds in the hand during
two banding station programs this fall! A Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO)
naturalist will meet participants by the Barr Lake Nature Center. The RMBO Naturalist
will guide the participants to the Bird Banding Station where RMBO bird bander,
Meredith McBurney, will lead participants through the banding process, bird identification,
and share stories about banding birds. In addition to visiting the banding station,
RMBO naturalists will lead participants through a hands-on bird identification activity,
habitat hike, and migration relay.
