Young Adventurers

Offered Year Round
Program Fee:
  • $20.00 for a 1.5 hour program for groups of 20 people of less
  • $2.00 per participant for each aditional hour of programming
  • $6.00 park fee for groups that come to Barr Lake State Park
Ages: 3, 4, 5, and 6 years of age Duration: 1.5 hours

Throughout the year, RMBO hosts programs for the very youngest nature and wildlife lovers. These programs are designed to introduce 3-6 year-olds to the wonders of birds and the natural world. Programs are available at Barr Lake State Park, or we can come to your site! The following programs are options for the 2009 and 2010. Please let us know if you have a bird or conservation related topic that intersts you and we can design a program to meet your needs or desires.

Bird Bites

Have you ever wondered why birds have different shaped beaks? Explore the diversity of beaks and make your own bird feeder to take home!

The Beaks Beat

Birds have a variety of calls that they use for many different reasons. Become familiar with bird songs during this program, and invent your own bird call!

Weathered Feather

Birds are the only animal in the world with feathers. See how feathers help birds to survive.

Regurgitating Raptors

Learn the important role that birds of pey have in ecosystems, then get your hands dirty while dissecting a raptor pellet.

Master Migrators

Many birds must complete a difficult journey twice a year. Learn about why birds migrate, where they go and some obstacles they may encounter.

Love Birds

Discover what you can do to help birds. Bird conservation and stewardship is a critical step in maintaining the health of our environment. Take home bird feeders and window clings as your first step to conservation.

Birds Around Town

Birds can be found all over the world. Map several of the habitats near your home and discover the tyepical birds that live there. How can you help those birds survive?
